HI, my name is Oscar and I'm new here. I'm from Florida and have a 98 Explorer Sport that needs some work. I need to replace the front bumper and the drivers side finder and need to know if it would be something I can do or take it in to a body shop for repairs. If I can do it myself were can I get the parts. Thanks

first off, welcome. secondly, what is wrong with the front bumper? (im looking to buy a scrapped one) The bumper is very easy to replace, its only held on by 4 bolts. The fender i'm not sure about, but it cant be too hard; people on here have replaced with fiberglass and i dont think they ran into too much trouble. I can be certain that a bodyshop will overcharge you for something. Just take a look at it and see if you can take it off/replace it. Fords (especially explorers) are pretty easy trucks to work on.

Bumper is super easy. 4 bolts hold it to the frame. The fender, which I'm guessing is what you're talking about, is a little trickier, but not overly difficult. Get yourself a Haynes or Chilton's manual. They have very in depth description on how to remove and install anything on your truck. They're very helpful.
EDIT: Dammit, too slow. :D

Fender is cake.
There is one nut that is a pain to get to, and the grille and header pannel needs to come off. ( well you can take the header panel half off )

Get a short phillips
a shallow 8mm socket
a long extension
an 11mm deep socket.

Lemmie know when you have all that stuff and I will walk you through the process.
A first timer can do the whole swap in maybe two hours three tops.
