Do I need special tools for the power steering setup on the 5.0 explorer
Going to replace the pump

A pin sized hole happened in the waterpump hose and was squiriting the fan and the antifreeze must have gotten on thepump and the bearing are squealing and grinding...I keep spraying with lube and WD40 to subside the squeal....

You will need a PS pump pulley puller to get the pulley off. DOn't even try it without the tool.

Do yourself a favor and buy this $15 tool from Harbor Freight Tools:

ITEM 40749-2VGA
$14.99
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=40749

This tool will allow you to remove your old pulley and install it on your new p/s pump.

Also, do yourself a favor, and don't put your new pump in front of old hoses.

Buy new p/s hoses because after 100K Miles, the old ones will be hardened from the heat of the p/s fluid going through them, and they become brittle and leak around the pressed on metal fittings.
