My front passanger side window has been moving up and down very slowly for a few months, so I am 99% sure the motor is finally done. All the sudden, the window will not go up. Yes, of course it stops working while the window is all the way down... Anyway, I need help/advice on replacing the window motor myself. Since this is a common thing I'm sure, I am hoping to get a good write up on how to do it. And pics would be a huge plus.

If it's anything like my truck you will need to drill the rivits that hold the motor to the regulator. You can either use a rivit gun to reattach or replace the rivits with some 1/4x20 bolts with some Loc-tite on the nuts.

Unfortunately the window regulator is positioned in the left bottom cornor of the windows (vice versa passenger side)...youll have to use a drill and remove a nut or two...then comes the process of getting the thing out...which is sorta tough....also it might not be the motor itself, could be the bushings inside it...they can wear out and get all smashed up inside..its an easy $5-10 fix if it is the bushing where the motor can cost much more....also make sure the window is all the way down...common sense

Use the search..you could of found this thread a week before....this is a thread for a driver side regulator

Whatever it may be...a helpful tip is to grease up your window tracks...it makes the up/down process a lot more smooth...and will reduce wear on the motor

Thanks for your help. I do think its the motor because it was going up and down very slowly before it finally gave out. I still haven't fixed it yet. I only paid $2800 for this thing and I'm debating on whether or not to even fix it. I may see if a glass shop can just push the window up but I'm not sure if it will even stay.

What tool (and please be specific!) do I need to remove the power window motor on the driver's side of my '98 Ford Explorer? How many screws or bolts do I need to remove and which ones are they?

I had to do the drivers side on my 97 and came across this video:
