Over the past two weeks, I have noticed a slight vibration in the steering wheel and maybe a tad bit in the accelerator pedal. Other symptoms include a slight popping/knocking noise coming from beneath the front passenger side floor board. This noise is intermittent and happens sometimes while driving straight, turning right and riding on a slightly bumpy roadway. I jacked the vehicle up, checked for symptoms of a bad wheel bearing by pushing/pulling on the top and sides of the wheel/tire. It was very tight, no looseness noted. So I pulled the wheel/tire off and check all ball joints, sway bar ends, tie rods ect. All seemed very tight and no wear noted.

Then I started to check the axle, that's when I discovered there was a little bit of play while grabbing the shaft and moving it up and down. The play is where the CV axle connects to the half shaft in the center of the vehicle. It can be noticed when moving it side to side and up and down. Is this normal? When I grab it to move the axle it makes the sound identical to the sound I hear while driving. Can someone verify if this is or is not normal? Again, the play is where the CV axle meets the half shaft, not the hub. This was the only thing I could find. If this is not normal, is it a common problem? How hard is the repair? Is it just a matter of pulling the axle from the half shaft and replacing the bearing/seal there? Vehicle info is below. Thank you in advance!

The following image shows two parts* that look like they may need replacing to fix my issue. Opinions?

your wheels are not fixed, they move up and down, left and right, the axles have to have to have play in them for this.
