Needed Advice On 4.0 Modifications

The paint codes are located at this site. The trim on the door jam will allow you to determine the color. Once you have the code, it's like a letter and number, search here, "paint code"

One more thing...

Can someone help me with this.
I am inquiring around for performance headers and i keep on getting 3 quotes. No EGR, passegerside EGR and Driver's side EGR.
I dont know what an EGR looks like.

I was told its a tube that connects from the manifold, to another part of the engine.
Is it the one i encircled in the passenger's side pic?

Thanks.

Yes

02-05 explorers have like "ribs" or "fins" on the throttle body spacer..supposely hollowing it improves throttle response

Are you referring to the "gasket"? A TB spacer is an aftermarket item.

those fins actually IMPROVE flow around that giant EGR Tube

for what its worth, the 4.0L will NEVER give anything but modest performance. i think the main problem is engine tuning. then the Intake Manifold, followed by the exhaust headers. and the huge curb weight of the Explorer.

BTW..the exhaust system is actually a decent setup.

this is why i don't get girls that much either

dude.

seriously.

The car has little to do with it. Its' all you, you pick your game up, you'll get the girls. Doesn't take money, doesn't take ..... well, having the big D deff could help, but seriously, it's mostly all in the game you bring.

now... back to car stuff

you keep saying you think there's a difference between your old V8 and the new six. Well, there is. That's why you pay for the two extra cylinders. I think you might find that unless you are towing or something, a six is fine for around town stuff...

Sir, I strongly disagree
I beg to differ.
+1
+1 I think my 4.0 kicks ass :salute:
I agree....

My truck will run circles around alot of v-8's. Track times prove that as well. I wish Fords mainstream v-8 was as enthusiastic as the 4.0L sohc!
