Neg Battery Cable Replacement

I remember reading a post that referred to replacing the pos. battery cable. I did a search but couldn't find that post.
I'm replacing my battery and figured now would be the time to replace the cable,(someone mentioned cable performance deteriorating over time and or failing).
I'm wondering what would be the best gauge and type wire to use.

My cables have just crapped out on me...I'm wondering the same thing.

go down to your local auto store. There are several kits that sell the cables and the clamps together for around $15 or so. It's about the same cost and will save you some time.
