Neon Dash Lighting

I have a '93 Explorer XLT and just about all the dash lights are out and I can barely read the gauges at night. I have been searching about blue led's but it seems like those are hard to come by. I had another idea for bright blue dash lights. I haven't taken the gauges apart yet so I don't know how much room there is, but what about sticking a small neon tube behind there? The only thing I wouldn't be sure of is the size and how to diffuse the light so it's not just one bright spot. I'll probably try something over the Thanksgiving break, so any input would be appreciated.

I don't think there is enough room to put a neon behind your gauges. Even if there was, the light wouldn't be even and wouldn't look very good.

that was my biggest concern, room and someway to diffuse the light so it looks good. if anyone has any ideas i would be glad to hear them.
