neon lights

I broke one of my tubes on the neons under my X while offroading... decided its not a good idea to have them under there if you're actually planning on driving off-road...

I have a nice system in my cargo area so i took the 2 3 foot tubes and mounted them along the top corners where my ceiling meets the side plastic.... they're not extremely noticable.... but boy can they light it up at night in there!!! i get a nice red glow all over.

--Thats my suggestion.

shhh!! don't tell!

hey guys, i was wondering what would happen if i put two interior neon lights for my underbody lights. I dont have a lift and dont plan on going offroading (so they are not going to break). Any ideas if this is a good idea or not? thanks for your opinion.

First off...they will not provide alot of light at all.

Underbody tubes are 51 inches and 30 inches (the Street Glow Gold Series at least) vs. probably 20 inch neons that you would put under the truck.

Secondly, they are not built to withstand the outside conditions. You would have to silicone the neons up very well so that no water gets into the transformer and frys them.

Third, wiring would be sort of annoying (vs. wiring a gold series kit in a series)

So, to sum

Not bright, not meant for outside weather, hard to wire

Gold Series - Series wiring

This might not be the place for this, but since the NEON GOD is here, I'll throw this up.

On my last wheel'n trip I cracked the inside glass on my front tube. The other look fine. knowing a bit about electronics, if one thing in series is broken, the whole chain doesn't work. However, I have one tube that lights and the two other (that aren't broken) don't. I haven't taken 'em off yet to try, but it doesn't make any sence to me.

yes, that has happened to me also.

Even though the bulb is broken, if the tube is airtight, a small connection will be made.

I am not sure why this happens...actually, once a 12" tube lit up even though the series was not completed...its strange :)

So do you think my other tubes are fine?

Red for sure

Green or Orange

White?

If you want a Blue Gold Series I might be selling mine for a Plasma Glow

personally I would go with red lights, but thats just my opinion. I have a black X and I have blue lights all on the inside. Im working towads blue underbody lights. Found some red underbodies on ebay, check them out:

hey how much u gonna sell that Gold Series for? If you have AIM message me; y3kbuddy. thx.

Not to be harsh, but lowglow, and SG's blueline series suck...they aren't that bright.

The new Plasma Glow's are pretty good though (so i hear) and SG's Gold Series are nice.

red is of course your best option.......but blacklights would look cool too....wouldn't be really flashy but it will still do the job
