2013 EX Limited 301a Blis
This is my first post as an Explorer owner and I have some questions.
1. I have a 2013 limited with 301a, blis, bucket seats with console. Why don't I have the active lines that move with the steering wheel while in reverse. I have the two color coded fixed lines and the center line but not the moving lines. I know there was another thread on the camera clarity, I have a 2011 suburban
at work and this camera is much clearer than chevy's camera.

2. What is the quiet mode in the remote start menu. I did look in the owners manual but couldnt find it. Do people use it?

I've been following this forum for about two months while my car was on order and have learned a lot. Thank you all for your insight and patience with new owners feeling their way through.

You have to turn this on within MFT. There is a setting to turn that on.

Quiet start is the vehicle starting when you hit the push button and there are no DINGS inside the vehicle. I use Quiet Start in my Limited.

I believe the lines on the rear camera only adjust if you have active park assist.

Welcome to the Forum Nairb4190.:wavey:
To have the moving lines you need to have Active Park Assist which is part of the 302A package, so you don't have it with 301A.
Quiet start is described in the Owner's Guide as enabling or disabling engine idle increase. With 'Remote Start Quiet' selected as ON, it will prevent an increase in the engine idle. With it selected as OFF, it will allow the idle to increase and decrease as required.

Actually it has nothing to do with interior 'dings'. As in my post above, it governs engine idle. The only 'dings' you get when starting the Explorer are from the seat belt warning system. If you fasten your seat belt prior to starting the vehicle, there will be no 'dings'.

It states that in the 2012 manual, but in the 2013 one it states it reduces blower fan speed to reduce noise. Maybe it does both?

Sounds like one more thing I wanted but don't have. Oh well my old truck didn't have any lines or a camera so this is a huge step up. Other thing I noticed is the noise the high beams make when turned on, I guess their design is to work with the auto off high beam. My wife said there are things on this car that I'll never know about. I think she's right. I thought my first car an 86 mercury cougar xr7 was cool when it would talk to say the lights are on or the door is ajar.

Thanks Riley. I referenced my 2011 manual (4th ed.) when I posted. I guess Ford keeps making subtle changes along the way. It would make sense that the blower motor would run at a reduced speed if the idle was kept low. Just a guess though.
