New Air Box?

Put in a K&N filter today and noticed the rubber seal around the top of the air box was dried up. Pieces of it have broken off. Do I get a new air box? Or is there a way to re-seal the top?

My 91XLT came with a broken airbox and when I contacted the dealer for one, they wanted $90 dollars for the entire unit. Might as well find one at a junk yard. I paid $5 for it.
