YOu cant run on decats can you- what about the mots and emmisions on the test?
I would love to do that- much more power from the 245 yeah!

245? HP gain from removing cats?

No- we run a Ford 245 engine in the 4 litre sohc!
I and you wish eh?
I have become gas heavy since I put in my air filter, love the noise!!!!!

oh i understand lol, so really how much more HP would you gain with cats removed?

I am not sure, but something around 10 would not be unreasonable as the engine can breath more easy...............Oh think of the roar too!!!

cool, im considering on buying OBX racing headers next month, how much could i gain on that? there on ebay

Dont know but I have wish I could do that too- If you do just be careful how you route the plug leads, I have read here about the headers burning through leads.
Thats a big job mate, as access is so tight around there!

heatshielding should solve that, something i havnt thought about actually...

If you can't keep the emissions down without cats, this means an MOT failure. I know you can revert back for the MOT, but at other times technically if your emissions are too high, you are not street legal. Again, following on from not being street legal, this technically invalidates your insurance. Don't want to put you off. but it needs a bit of looking into first before you go ahead.
Good luck.

i know its naughty but if i get a custom system made then when it comes to mot time ill just bolt the old system back on ....... my company has a very understanding mot garrage that always helps ,..........as for bhp gain you should see between 8-18bhp

ive got a local company to make the decats so ill keep you posted as to how much differance they make
