I have a habit of being hard on my brakes. A few weeks ago my brakes began to squeal and I noticed that the rotors had a nice glaze on them. Obviously, I am overheating my brakes. Anyone have a brand of pads they prefer or a brand that can stand up to the heat?

While I am at it, anyone have a suggestion on checking how well the calipers are working?

On a side note: I have noticed a bit of brake fluid around the top of the master cylinder, and it probably came from inside. Does this help anyone in answering?

Brakes!

All I can say is grease the caliper pins very often, they tend to dry and jam(on all Ford product), maybe thats why you overheat your rotor. As for pads, I dont know, I've been using Ford and converting to slotted rotor and carbon fiber pads soon(as soon I receive the parts). Remember to have your rotor turned before placing the new pad( to get the glazing off).
