I've had this for about 3 months now. I bought an NSYS CAI...only 45$. I was at first going to get the Airmax Spiral-Flow, but was pushed to buy the NSYS...i saved a lot of money.

They had horrid instructions, just for how it should be held up. just took a self-tapping screw and it holds well, i kind of skeptical at first but it works just fine.

The sound is excellent and the power is much better, kicks me back in my seat but has troubles kicking at 2nd gear for some reason. I've noticed about a 2 mpg increase and when going about 80 on a 300 mile trip, i will get about 20 mpg. i can make a video if requested.

Where did you buy this from?

Nothing wrong with avoiding the big bucks on a CAI. They all pretty much work the same. Make sure the filter is decent though. I wouldn't skimp there. Consider an Dead Link Removed. Highly rated and low maintenance.

how can i tell if its a good filter or not? i was also wondering whatll bring the hp up a bit more, the current exahust i have seems fine, a little rusty but its from wisconsin weather. an sct chip was my next guess. anything cheaper that can make it go faster? thanks for the help, wish i could help out in some way.

if it came from ebay.. it's probably not a great filter. like celly said, you're going to want to go with a good filter like Amsoil, K&N, or a lower end one that isn't terrible would be a spectre filter from Autozone.

when you say it sounds better do you mean like you have an after market exhaust and it made it sound better?
does it make that sucking air noise like turbos do? bc my buddy has a cai on his tundra and it sounds like he has a turbo on it..haha

its got a nice deep tone to it. you can barley hear the noise like its turbo. my dad drives an avalanche and his cai realllly sounds like turbo

agreed 100%. I've used them all. I will use Amsoil air filters for life. Way better than anything else out there

Alright, any site recommened for the amsoil air filter? Or can i find one at autozone? Appreciate the help duudes.

Amsoil is a multi-level marketing company. Hard to find their stuff in stores. I buy direct from Amsoil. Get a membership and stuff is cheaper.

When I signed up to be a preferred customer, i saved more the the 20 buck a year fee. so it is worth it.

Here's a noob question- how do you remove the lower portion of the factory airbox? I have a similarly cheap ebay intake coming for my SOHC (will put on a good filter prior to install though). I've looked around for some fasteners holding it down and didn't see any. It looks like it's being held in by some tabs- do I just pull up and they will release?

Help.

Alright, thanks.

2TimingTom, idk if it's different for yours but mine was held it by rubber tabs, I just pulled the airbox up and it popped out.
