i just installed a new awia cd player in my girlfriends chevy cavalier and it doesnt work. i have installed a few cd players and other car electronics so i do not think i did any thing wrong.
i sodered all the wires then wrapped them in electrictal tape because i did not have any heat shrink tubeing. i bought the gm harness so i would not have to cut the factory harness.
the cd player doesnt work at all.
i checked the fuse on the HU and the fuse for the car.
I also plugged it in and ran a 12v power line to my car thinking that her wire might have been cut somewhere. i also ran a ground to my car and the hu did not power up.
i put her factory hu in and it did not work either.
now i have checked the fuses, ran a seperate power wire to my car to test it, and double checked my wireing.
what else could be the problem? what are the odds that the cd player (brand new) is busted? or could it be somewhere in her car?
