New console

Well i have a 2002 explorer sport and would like to put a full size console in my X. I saw this explorer on car domain and was wondering what this console came out of.

Looks like the console that was in my moms 2003 explorer....

not sure what console you have, but most explorers consoles after 94 were full up to the dash consoles... my moms 96 has a console similar to that

That console is available on certain Sport/Sport Trac models form 2001 on. Usulally known as a "high series" or "highline" console. Earlier ones had a different cupholder/storage bin piece, in black instead of silver.

I was just wondering because i have the ****ty console withe the bag thing. Saw this guy on sound domain and he says he put in the full console himself. Was wondering where i could get a console like this without having to pay ford 500 bucs.

Ebay has them all the time. I have one that is grey that I could sell really cheap, but you will need to get a new console lid and clean it up a bit.

But would just any full length explorer console fit in a 2dr sport explorer, or would i need to look for a full length console from a sport/sport track?

I'm not 110% sure, but i think the Sports are the same as 4Doors on the interior except the back seat has been deleted. The consoles, seats, cargo cover, etc should fit either model.

My console ends about where the cupholders are on this one pictured. And for the lid, mine has a padded armrest that you flip up, then there's a non-padded door/lid into the box (as opposed to this one with the armrest and lid being one and the same).

Someone on here with a 4door made a custom console that ran from the dash all the way back to the beginning of the cargo area (he removed the bench seat in favor of bucket seats). I know that's not what you're after, but as long as you're thinking about consoles, look it up for kicks. Search "custom console" should find it.
