I'm Aidan, I bought a 97 Explorer 2wd yesterday for $300 by fixing a wire to the starter control thing by the engine compartment fusebox to get it to start (screw squirrels). It runs great with 176k miles, auto tranny (not sure wich one) and a 4.0 V6 (not sure if it's a OHV or SOHC) and the body is not what I'd call straight. It's the XLT package, so leather seats and power everything! I'm also on ComancheClub and have done lots of work to my Comanche, I just got the Explorer for something not as rough to use as a daily driver. I hope to work for a Ford dealership by the time I'm out of college, preferably Bob Tomes in Mckinney. I'm sure I'll be on this website quite often looking for some info, because my new Explorer is not what I'd call perfect.
