New to this board. I just bought a 2002 Explorer. So far I've been very impressed with it. Generally I've always been a GM man, but since my mother bought here first Explorer in '95 I've been fond of these vehicles. My sister owned one too (she now drives an Expedition). They loved loved them. I think they are all around great vehicles. But I've never been able to leave any vehicle I've owned alone. I also have a Trans Am WS6 (mildly modified for now, but getting worse), so who knows what I'll do with the Explorer. Just want to say Hi!

Well let me be the first to welcome you to the board... You'll find lots of great general information here...

I don't know of anyone yet that's modded their 02's yet but maybe you can be the first...

Welcome and congratulations on the new purchase.

Welcome to the club and good luck with the new '02! I'm sure people on here will be interested if you do start doing any mods to it since it is brand new territory!

Good luck with it! Whether it's performance or *gasp* off-road.

Do you guys recommend any particular running boards? My wife is kind of short so this will probably be the first mod.

Welcome to the site and congrats on your new Explorer!

The WS6 is a nice performer and I am sure you will be very happy with your X.

As far as running boards, not sure if many on the site would be able to help you too much given the fact that the 2002's are so new. I'm not sure if the aftermarket has anything available yet, but I could be wrong. If you find out, let us know.

Good luck and welcome aboard.

Happy postin'!:)

Welcome to the board!

As far as running boards it depends on if you're going to 4 wheel or not. If your going to wheel you might want to look for rock sliders. Ours stick out just enough for me to get the front of my foot on and use the 'Oh ****' handle to hop in. I'm only 5'3''. I did tell Rick he couldn't go any higher because my foot won't go any higher.

Good luck and keep us posted on the mods for the 02. Many people are going to be interested.
