New explorer owner in oregon.

Hello everybody my name is chris and I'm new here and live in beautiful southern oregon, just bought my first explorer last week, it is a 1994 xlt 5 speed with manual hubs and manual transfer case it is lifted an unknown amount on 265/75/16 it has a 5 digit odometer that reads 02xxx, the dealership swears it's just over 100k and it looks and runs like it at least in my opinion. I paid $1700 for it which I thought was ok considering they put a brand new windshield, new clutch and new heater core in it before i had bought it. Anyways here is a picture of it, the front wheel isn't actually that close to the fender my wheels are just turned slightly and gives it the appearance of almost touching, but she looks like she can clear 33's no problem. She has 3.27 gears with an open rear diff :/ so she is slow and only gets 14mpg lol.

If you re-gear the truck you should see better fuel economy. It's kind of a trade off though since you have to make the initial expenditure for the gears.

I was getting 18mpg with 33s and 4.56 gears. The lower gears make it easier to take off... You don't have to put your foot into it as much to get going. It helps tremendously offroad as well.
