hello. Ive just recently gotten my first car and it is a '99 xl explorer. Ive grown up working on and driving off road trucks. Im looking to do quite a bit of things to this truck but it needs to stay road legal, which is where im running into an issue. i don't know what the legal lift height and tire size is here in MA. i also don't exactly know what to get in terms of a lift for it. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance.

thank you. that tread was very helpful as well. now i have another question. where can i find decent add-a-leaf for this year explorer?

I just did an AAL installation on my Explorer last week. I got mine from Summit Racing. This is the one that most people get, by pro Comp: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EXP-13120/

You may be able to find them cheaper somewhere else, but I don't know.

There are a couple helpful threads on installing that too.

The little "Search" link towards the top of your page is your friend. You can search for just about anything. And half the time, you can Google it and this website will pop up as long as whatever you Googled contains "Ford" and/or "Explorer."
