'99 EB 5.0L (R.I.P)
Hey all,

Just introducing myself. I picked up a 99 EB 5.0L about two weeks ago.

This is the picture from the dealership. When I get it cleaned up, and have a chance to take a pic or two, I'll post them.

I have several things planned for it already. First of which is getting it a bit closer to the ground. Which I plan to do with this kit.

Other stuff too. Looking forward to learning, and sharing info here. :-)

I'd been dreaming of getting one of these for a good long while now, and I'm very proud to be the new owner of this one!

It's a very dark red. I've been referring to it as "Maroon".

I really HATE the color red on my cars, so I try to avoid calling it "red".

I'll have to do some looking to find the actual name ford uses for it.. I'm sure it's something fancy ;-)

Why? I live in southern california, I use it to drive to work and back.

Besides, it's a 2WD!

I've done the offroad thing. Had an 88' Suxuki Samurai with 32" tires, lockers, transfer case, etc. I owned it for nearly 3 years, and it only saw dirt like twice.

It's just not my style. I'd rather be able to do some "spirited" driving on the street. :-)

welcome, nice explorer, after you lower it get a supercharger and exhaust

Ok. Mine is tan as far as I know. However, ford calls it "Arizona Beige". Dumb fancy name if you ask me. Click on my mugshot and see what I am talking about.

In California, the plates stay with the vehicles when sold.

Cherrybomb: I think a user named "Aldive" has the exact same shade of purple in his 99. He knows the official name I am sure.

Already on the list. :-)

I'm looking at the super charger, also from explorer express. Unfortunately, in California, my choices are limited for what's smog legal.

I'm not exactly decided on the exhaust though. :-)

Also interested in some Trick Flow heads, and a Cam. ;)

Any other suggestions?

What he said. ;)

Actually, the tags on it expired like the month I bought it. Should be getting all the new registration stuff in about 45 or so more days.

Crankcase, I'll ask Aldive about the color.

I got a couple Helms manuals on the way, and I could probably look it up in the Chiltons I just picked up. Just gathering info.

I wonder if I can find the color on the door tag? Hrrmn.

Lower is good as long as your not doing the off road thing. Its not a 4X4 and it handles much better.
