Well, I have purchased some 20" rims...however they aren't going on the X until Spring so I'm trying to get things finalized w/ the rubber. They came with centercaps....I know I need lugs. Do I automatically need spacers? I'm trying to run a 275/50/20 which is around 30.8" high and about 10.8" wide. My 2nd choice is a 265/50/20 which is 30.4" high and 10.4" wide. Will either of these work?

man...no help nowadays huh?

i have worked on a explorer with 275/50/20s.. it didnt have spacers...... do you need the spacers or you dont know?

Yeah I didn't know if I needed the spacers or not. So maybe you can clear up that question for me. So you worked on an X with that size tire, huh? Well, what did u think? How'd it look? Did it rub?

That's the tire I want to run...it's the Streeter w/ the offroad soul! :D

Thanks for responding!

PS- The rim is 20x8 w/ 5" of backspacing ( I'm not sure what, if any, this matters)

?

I'm gonna keep bumpin'. Jima where you at?

No you should not need any spacers, I had a set of 275/45/20's on my 93 and I had no rubbing at all. I'm not sure on the wheel well differece on the 93 to 97 but It should not be much more differnt... Hope this helps

if they do rub it should be minor but i dont know to much about the 5" backspacing. might rub on your sway bar but thats nothing much :D .

Thanks people. Much Obliged!

Well after much debate and quite a few equations...I have decided to go with the 275/45/20. A lot more choices and ability to lower the X. Thanks fo all those who helped.
