I've had my "Fuel Cap" dash light come on in the past. Last time it was because my idle was turned up, causing the IAC to send out the trouble code. Once I turned it back down, the light went away. The other day, it came back on! I adjusted the idle screw again, to the point that it no longer affects the idle (600rpm), no luck this time. What else could be causing the light?!

Oh, and the actual gas cap is brand new.:navajo:

you don't happen to have an aftermarket gauge overlay, do you?

I know on mine, the "Fuel Cap" light on the overlay is actually the CEL.

also... run your code scanner on it?

I get annoyed with hearing "Check your gas cap" every time I get a check engine light. I have never found the gas cap to be the culprit for any of my CEL's. Go get the code read and it will tell you where your malfunction is. If you don't have a code reader, you can go to your local Auto zone and they will read it free and sometimes they will even have enough aptitude to tell you how or what to fix it.

No but it seems to be the responce whenever a CEL is mentioned in chat. I suppose it could be modified to do so, but I was brought up calling them idiot lights anyways. Have you gotten your code read?
