Okay, I understand the process to program keys and remotes, but my question is how to go about finding the RIGHT Fusion key. It was my understanding that you needed to match up the FCC ID #s on the back of the remotes to make sure they would work with your current system. Looking at the Fusion keys on *Bay, none of the ads state they have a key/remote that has a FCC ID that matches what I have on mine. In fact, a lot of the ads don't even have an FCC ID listed. Am I missing something here? Do you NOT need to match these up with the new Fusion keys? If not, will my old fobs continue to work if I add a newer Fusion key?

Any help here is greatly appreciated! I'd love to get rid of this fob and and have an all-in-one, but I would still like the fob to work on the backup set(s)...

Thanks again, this place is great!

I saw a lengthy discussion about using Fusion keys over in the '02-'05 modded forum a while back. Don't know why it got started over there, but I guess it is a mod. :D Search over there for Fusion Key. I'm sure you'll find it.

Yeah, I actually did read through that one already, but no one addressed the FCC ID issue, that's why I asked here to see if they are needed on these new keys or what the deal is. I know people have got the new keys to work, but by doing so (with presumably a different FCC ID then what is on their current fob), were the old fobs disabled or would they still work?

No the FFC is not an issue... the new ford fusions use the same PATS system as a 3rd gen explorer so ur system will pick up on the signal it sends... follow the procedure i put in the other thread to program it

Excellent! So I will be able to use different remotes then? I.E., I can use my existing original remote for the spare key, and use the new Fusion remote, with different FCC numbers, and they'll both work? Am I understanding this correctly?

Anyone tried programing the fusion remote to an after market keyless entry/alarm? Id love to use the fusion key on my 2nd gen but I have an after market alarm/keyless entry.

Yes.

So if I buy one of these Fusion keys off of eBay, will I be able to program it to my Ex?

And does it have the PATS system? I couldn't find anywhere on eBay that mentioned that...

And where can I take it to cut it?
