Yesterday I took off my flowmaster 50 series and pipes out the back to replace it with a glasspack and put a side exit on. All is done and sounds good but from a dead stop it seems like I have to give it more gas before releasing the clutch to take off than from when I had the flowmasters hooked up. Do I need to regap the plugs for any reason or change anything that I'm not thinkning of or am I having to give it more gas because of less backpressure due to a more open muffler? I know I should probably take it to a shop that tunes it and have it tuned but I don't have the money for that right now so maybe theres something else I could do to help. Im not sure. Any help or ideas would be great.

...What happened is you lost low end torque...

...This happens when you increase the size of your pipes or increase the flow due to a non restrictive muffler...

...This topped with your 35's and running 3.73's must really be tough to drive around?

Its not too bad but it was a previous show truck so gearing didn't really matter and the guy before obvisouly didn't care about the gears and i don't blame him...it was a show truck and was used for just that SHOW. But i am still able to manage 13 mpg if im not running up the rpms real high. Thinking this is because the previous owner put a lot of ignition and timing work under the hood and it performs well for stock gearing with a lift and tires. I plan to at some point downsize to 33's from 35's but don't know when. I know you said i lost low end torque but after i get going and hit the gas it feels like it pulls the same as before...just taking off feels different. anything i can change for better take off????
