Doc, try the link above for tune up and performance. The more you are on the forum, the more you will get the hang of navigating for what you are looking for. Also in the banner between "New Posts" and "Quick Links" there is a search function. Put in your key words for searching and just hit "go" It will take time to get the system set up down, but the more you surf, the easier it becomes. Good Luck!!

Welcome to the forum. First what engine does your explorer have?

engine

thanks for the reply. Engine is a v-6 I am looking for a few more mpg's and a little more power.I also tow a trailer sometimes about 3000 to 3500 hundred pounds.

Um...for the V6 engine theres not too much. You can do the airbox mod with an intake (see registry for intake) or you can look at what MillerTimeX17 has, and do that. The other thing to do is an exhaust. You can always throw a set of underdrive pulleys on there. Other than that theres not much I can think of...oh ditch the running boards if you have those.

I was hopefull that I could do something simple but I guess not. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, they're pretty much tuned optimally from the factory. Not too much you'll do to it, which is why some will opt to a V8 for the negligible difference in MPG's for the power bump.
