I am new here and this is my first post. I am probably not doing this right, but I have tried to Search for an answer without success.
Here is my problem: I can't seem to engage the four-wheel drive 2006 Ford Ranger XLT, following the normal engagement procedures as outlined in the owners' manual. This vehicle has 28,000 miles on it and I have only used the four-wheel drive a dozen times or, the last time being about six months ago. We had snow here the night before last and I was unable to get it into four-wheel drive. The "4x4" indicator does not appear on the dashboard display, nor is there any soft sound and "thump" normally associated with 4WD engagement. Anyone?
