Hello I just traded off my 2006 Trailblazer SS picked up a 2009 explorer and I love it so far and I got some questions so if one of u guys or girls can give some answers/advice or point me in the right direction first what are the things that look like jacks in bettween the front seats and the console and 2nd I no im probably beating a dead horse but what do I need to do to install some HIDs to work properly

2009 explorer, means you probably bought one with sync if it got the microsoft badge on the console. There is a usb port and aux port, i am more of a usb person then aux person but if your ipod or microsoft izune what ever its called that where it plugs in, also you can plug in your smartphone into the adapter or use the bluetooth feature instead of using wires in the phone

rusty thx and yes it does have sync ive had the explorer for a week and trying to get that whole thing figured out. I think I am getting it on trial and error and hepl from the book when it works it sure does make it nice

I think those ports are your line-in "AUX" port, and your USB port. Both are meant for the Sync system.

I think they have something to do with the supplementary restraint system. If you are talking about the little black handle lookin' thingys between the seat and the console, I think they are seat belt pre-tensioners......pyrotechnic (explosive) devices that tighten seat belts, during an impact.


When I first got my X, I was tempted to grab it and pull on them seeing as they fit so nicely in my hand. I thought they were some new GEN IV seat adjusters.
