Hi All,

Just picked up a '92 XLT dirt cheap, looking forward to fixing it up a bit.

Welcome to this forum! What do you plan on doing to it?

Depending on how things go, I'd like to:

1. Get it inspection-ready (quick and dirty body repairs are definitely in order)
2. Do all the "basic" maintenance - filters, fluids, plugs, wires, clean it up
3. If all goes well in steps 1&2 (running well, body ok) new tires & brakes
4. Suspension maintenance/rebuild - bushings, ball joints and etc.
5. and (maybe) lift it a bit. If I need to tear down the front end and also replace the leaf springs (very rusty), a kit could make sense I think. I'm inclined to hack the fenders off and put on some bushwackers to clear new rubber if other fixes aren't necessary.

I'm not into rock-crawling, more along the lines of trail running and activities (camping, hunting, fishing, and taking the dogs along).

From there, it all depends on time and money!

Oh, this board ROCKS!!! I've already found a half dozen outrageously useful threads - you should publish a book ...
