Hey all,
I'm expecting my new head unit on Tuesday to put into my '03 sport with the audiophile system (so I may be selling my stock disc changer soon if anybody is interested ;)
I've ordered the Pioneer DEH-P7700MP, it looks like it will be nice...wanted something to hook iPod up thru. Apparently it comes with the harnesses/kit/etc I will need to hook it up. My question... and I going to be able to just remove the old and plug in the new hu with the harness stuff? Then, will my rear sub work OK? I've read all the old posts about this stuff and am still not sure that my existing wires will work with the new hu.

Secondly....I know I will want to upgrade speakers sometime as well. The sub..now bear with me...can I just pry the grill off and throw a new one in there, am I going to have to tear the panels off? Do i need to buy this stealthbox thing if i already have the sub back there? Will any 8" fit in there without any major modification? If my new HU will play the spearkers good enough for me right now, I may not upgrade for awhile.
Sorry for the long post! I've been trying to search the threads but I want special attention  hahaha

anybody?? If not it's all good, i'm sure i can figure it out. thanks anyway!

Im in the same boat as you. I have a $900 Pioneer HU laying in my office because I can't find a straight answer on how installing it will affect the sotck Audiophile system.

I've said it before, but I'm sticking to it...GM's audio systems are so much easier to deal with.

yeah, there is sooo much info here i don't know what applies to what anymore. I'm just going to pull the stock one off and start looking at stuff. 5 minutes ago i was just trying to get the *#(**@ stock stereo out. I have the tool and everything...it isn't wanting to budge. It seemed like it was coming out, then stuck.

I read the stock sub won't work. The harness they sent me with the new pioneeer head unit says it won't work for "premium auto." Then I also read a thread that you can get the factory sub to work with some other wiring scheme. I guess I just need to know what it looks like behind the factory stereo to figure it out. If you find out somethin let me know ;)
