I have found tons of useful info here. Thanks to all! My question is: Does anyone know where to find the seal that goes between the outer cv joint and the spindle? I have a 2000 Explorer XLT 4x4. I have been to advance and NAPA and neither had a clue. What is it for, Grease seal or dust seal??? Need help asap. Thanks

If it's the seal I'm thinking of, Ford calls it a Hub Seal, Ford PN. 1L2Z3K070BA

Hub seals

I finally found the hub seals after the Ford dealership sent me on a wild goose chase. They sent me to Southern Distributors in B'ham for the wrong part. You'd think a dealership could get a simple seal right.
On the package Ford calls it a Shield. The part number is YL2Z-3K070-AA. They listed for 24.99 each but they I got them both for 40.00 incl tax.
