Ok, I've never posted here but i've lurked around for awhile.. The problem here is my friends 96 XLT isn't engaging into 4wd. The TC is shifting, it goes into 4 low perfectly, the front end just isn't engaging at all, anytime. I took the CAD off and had him shift it while i was under the vehicle, and it worked fine so i guess that rules out the GEM. the only thing I'm thinking it could be is something inside the differential it's self keeping it from engaging. I'm about to pull my hair out with this thing. I've had the transfer case out and everything trying to trouble shoot this thing and everything points to the front end...If the the TC, and CAD is working, why wont the front wheels pull?

Please help....I'm workin on this for a 67 Y/O man that can't make it up his driveway

Alright I checked the CAD and its working properly...when locked in, both wheels turn opposite of each other. I even took it off to make sure the slip collar wasn't sticking, which it isnt. But i did find somthing interesting, in 4 low and the front end in the air, u can turn the driveshaft by hand, which in-turn spins the wheels..Should i do the brown wire mod...Is this whats happening, the clutch isnt locking up?

BUMP BUMP BUMP....pls, someone help me help this old man.
