2000 Ford Explorer XLT
Hello All,

New Member here, and new owner of a 2000 Explorer XLT w/4.0L OHV V6, with 105,000 miles. My wife's parents gave it to us, because they bought a new Subaru, and along with their trusty Toyota Highlander, didn't need three cars.

Our other cars are a 2001 Honda CRV, a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan Braun Entervan wheelchair conversion, and a 1963 MGB. We're in Southeast Pennsylvania, and the four wheel drive will come in handy during the winter (it already did yesterday), and I can stop putting miles on the van (we need to make that last for a long time because it's soooo expensive to replace).

The Explorer is in good condition, but needs a little bit of work - after a three hour drive up here from Delaware, the windshield washer pump stopped working (the rear still works), and the hood gas struts are shot, the driver's door lock doesn't always pop up with the key or the remote, and the spare tire stowage hanger thing is completely shot so the spare tire is sitting behind the rear seat. I hope to get around to fixing these things when the weather permits (I'll pick up the gas struts from NAPA this afternoon) and will likely be searching this forum and asking lots of questions. :):):)

Cheers,
Greg

Welcome. The hood struts were the first thing I replaced on our 99 Sport after we bought it back in July. Very easy repair.
