New member and new to me 2016 PIU! Will be looking to mod a few things.

Hello all, I'm in the process of getting my first Ford and it is a 2016 PIU with sync 1. I have been blessed that my 92 240sx and 02 Xterra have served me well for the past 15 plus years. I don't mind doing the work to make my vehicles what I want. That said I am looking forward to the new (to me) PIU. My wants list are oem heated cooled leather seats front and rear (don't care to add 3rd row). My needs list is upgrading the 4" inch sync 1 to an 8" inch sync 3 and adding the speakers back to the civilian locations. I enjoy the journey on sourcing the right parts and installing myself. So not looking for an all in one purchase at the convenience price tag.

My questions to you all.

Are my wants and need list doable?
Should I go for the Sony radio bezel (since I am wanting heated/cooled seats) or standard 8" bezel?

• If I go with the sony bezel doe I need to also get the factory amps and everything that goes with that?

Any other modules or parts I should look for? Feel free to point me to posts or part numbers for my quest.
Which Custom cable should I get from amazon to retrofit the stereo? I see some $30 options and some $90 options.

Obvious needs:

• Genuine Ford voice activated SYNC 3 module.
• Genuine Ford 8" Capacitive Touchscreen.
• Genuine Ford Replacement radio bezel.
• Genuine Ford Screen to module cable.
• Genuine Ford USB Media Hub w/ Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Support.
• Genuine Ford USB Cable.
• Custom main wiring harness.
• OEM Backup camera retention harness/
• Mounting brackets.
• Under dash, retrofit GPS antenna (Required - existing antenna NOT compatible).
• OBDLink MX+ for Forscan
• Heated/cooled front and rear seats

Not trolling. Haven't posted here in a long time. Seriously couldn't figure out how to create a new post. I figured it out, see my post regarding an interior squeaking sound in my 2018 Explorer. I have looked high and low and can't figure out where the squeak is coming from.

Congrats man! Sorry I cant help you answer any of your questions I just recently purchased a PIU so Im still trying to figure everything out on the upgrades I want to do as well. Definitely keep us updated on your progress though!!
