1999 Explorer XLT
Hello all, just got my hands on a '99 Explorer XLT. Browsed the forums the past few days and decided to go ahead and register.

I am mainly looking for ideas on little projects I can do on my Explorer. She currently has about 195K miles on her. Just recently did the VB gaskets and of course the gasket was blown out by the 4 solenoids. She still shifts hard from reverse or neutral to drive or has to be high rev'd after leaving neutral or reverse to engage drive, but once she is rolling she runs and shifts good.

Here is a pic of my explorer as she is now....

I honestly was a bad boy and didn't torque them down to spec. I really should have, but I just tightened them down snug then went about a half turn past that.

Looks nice, I should be doing the VB gaskets too, But, on well, its nap time again. Alvin

Great looking Explorer!

My goal is ultimately to black it all out and paint the body black, then lift it about 3" and put bigger wheels on.

Welcome
