- 2017 explorer platinum
Hi, I'm a new member from the Western Slope in Colorado. I just purchased my first Ford (I mean we had some growing up, but I never actually owned any myself), it's a 2017 Explorer Platinum Black interior and exterior. I am already in love with it. I haven't been able to drive it much however, because the dealer we bought it from didn't install the brake caliper correctly when they either did their multi-point inspection or installed new breaks. I was able to drive it home through a couple of passes without any brake problems (thank goodness), I headed to my FIL's house down a dirt road when we noticed it and my brakes started getting spongy, we obviously found leaking brake fluid and removed the tire to find the caliper just hanging there. Luckily the dealer is taking care of everything for us including the tow and the repairs and brake line flush just to insure there are no more problems. I just have had to wait almost a week to be able to even get it into the dealer here. SO in the mean time I'm making sure I understand everything there is to know about the tech in the car. Any advice on where to look? I am completely new to car tech in general as I am coming from a 2003 Honda Accord. I did do some setting up of the tech before we brought it home, but still a little overwhelmed.
