2017 explorer limited
New member here. I have a 2017 explorer limited with a 3.5l. After having the water pump replaced a few days ago, I'm getting a message that the charging system needs service. I read a few posts that say after replacing the alternator they still get the same message. I know that they dropped the motor to replace the water pump and don't know if something is unplugged? Any help is appreciated .

Welcome to the Forum Hank.
there are a couple threads on "check charging system". Not sure if it's the same or if they provide any helpful info. Is the battery fully charged?
It's possible something was missed during the engine reinstallation.

If this happened after a big job like a water pump replacement, take it back to whoever did the work. Just know that there’s a chance it’s a separate problem that isn’t related to the water pump job.

That said: How old is the battery? A failing battery will cause weird problems too
