New member, but not new to Fords. Previously owned a 2010 Flex which was traded for the '18 Explorer.
Neither has given us any mechanical issues, although both were purchased new and see low miles.

We've had the usual intermittant issues ( driver's side mirror doesn't always fold out, A/C fan sometimes 'surges' on low setting, rear air sometimes comes on by itself, and we're waiting for the recall on the A pillar trim).

Only issue that ever left my wife stranded was when she drove it to the local convenience mart and the OEM battery just died when she tried to leave 2 minutes later. Battery was 5 years old, and voltage was only 10 volts so likely a cell just failed.

The Flex was a fantastically practical car, and the 2010s still allowed the front passenger seat to be folded flat, allowing you to carry an 8 ft long load inside the vehicle. But the Explorer is more fun to drive, better steering, better brakes, better acceleration.

Now that the Explorer is paid off we're making a list of issues for our dealer to address since it'll stay in the family for a while. Not holding my breath for a fix with any intermittant electrical gremlin but if there's any recalls for these, worth a shot.

Welcome.
