Hello

I have a 2000 Explorer Sport with 130ish,000 miles. It's on its second transmission already and will likely need another. The torque converter has gone out and I also think that there may be issues with the transfer case as well (I put it into gear and it only moves some of the time. It seems like the fluid doesn't flow like it is supposed to). My question is, if I take it in to get a transmission rebuild, will it take care of this problem as well? I guess what I'm asking is the transfer case, differentials, and torque converter all part of a transmission rebuild?

No,

However, the shop should be able to do the transfer case as well.

Transfer cases are a LOT cheaper to rebuild and are quite durable. A junk yard replacement is also an option. The Borg Warner 1354 t-case was used for many years in many vehicles. Finding one in good shape won't be difficult.
