Hi, I am new to this, and I think this forum is the greatest! I just bought my 96 Explorer Sport 4x4 and I love it! Please be patient though, this is my first Explorer!

You people are so awseome, I have had so many people responding to my delima, thanks, and all the info I gathered was all correct! and your right, I am so addicted already LOL, I now have to get my truck lifted at least 2" and I cannot live without 31's now! HA HA HA, I now know how to change out mu IAC and also how to clean it, so I am not at all concered about breaking a stupid fingernail ! LOL, and I'm a manicurist.........I have a girly side, but I like the guys toys! Ok all u smart *****, don't take that the wrong way, and no I am by all means not gay ladies! LOL
So if anyone has any tips they can offer me on a lift kit for my 96 sport that would be great.

theres a ton of threads on lifts. i lifted my X 4 inches for less than $200. and u need the tires to fill up the open space, and they are the expensive part. and after you get the bigger tires... u need bigger gears(also costly).. and then you go off road and you need a locker after that. and then you want new front suspension(solid axle swap). and bumpers, radios, speakers and engine mods are everywhere in between. its crazy... but i dont regret a single thing. i even lost a g/f over my truck. ("you spend more time with that truck than you do with me") hahaha.. but thats ok. i got a girl now that doesnt mind my truck.

Yeah you need someone that will be into your Explorer like you are.
What do u mean bigger gears? If I lift it, I need bigger gears? this is all new to me so don't laugh! LOL....
ANd how did u left your explorer for only $200.00? Did u just crank up the Torsion bar and add a spacer?

2 inch body lift = 100$ and torsion twist up front, shackles and add a leaf in back for 100. and the new gears help push the bigger tires. so theres not as much strain on the tranny.

Hey, mynameiseric, how much did u lift your explorer, it looks bad ass! And what size tire are they?

4 inch total. with 33x12.50 bf goodrich tires on 15x8 crager rims. your standard explorerforum lift. i used this website to figure out everything about my truck and do everythign i've done so far.
