Greetings gents! I am the 'ongoing' proud owner of a 1998 Ford Explorer XLT 5.0 and am now able, with wife's permish, to update many things on it. Ihave been an enthusiast since I bought it, which is actually my second Explorer. The first one only lasted for 2 years after sustaining an accident which totaled the vehicle (Ins. totaled because both airbags deployed) after just "tapping" the vehicle in front of me. Anyways, I'm now happier with the 5.0 and kinda feel like it is a Mustang in sheeps clothing. At least the wife hasn't figured it out!! whenever I buy some sort of performace upgrade, so far a MAC exhaust, Apten chip, Dynomax exhaust, and lowered all around, I tell her it's "you know how expensive gas is these days, this will help 'alot' on gas mileage. She buys it!! Hee Hee.
