Hello, I am new to the forum and am having trouble aligning trans fully to engine block on 96 xlt 4.0. I have converter fully seated. Held in place with tissue paper :), but, still can not get engine and trans to meet. Wind, rain and gravel driveway making it a little frustrating:(. Its my hand me down to my son and he loves his truck:D rust, door ajar alarm and all. Any ideas would be welcomed.

Type jack being used

I am using a regular tow and half ton jack and 3 ton regular jack. TC being held in place by work gloves. The tranny mates with the engine guide pins
but will not move forward completely on the pins. I have tried lifting rear end of trans and wiggling with a friend checking position of the TC. I am being told that there is a cm. of diff between 2dr trans and 4 dr guide pin holes. I have a 4dr and the trans and tc are from a bone yard.
