Hello, I am new to the forum and am having trouble aligning trans fully to engine block on 96 xlt 4.0. I have converter fully seated. Held in place with tissue paper , but, still can not get engine and trans to meet. Wind, rain and gravel driveway making it a little frustrating. Its my hand me down to my son and he loves his truck rust, door ajar alarm and all. Any ideas would be welcomed.

Welcome to this forum! Are you using a scissor style transmission jack or a regular jack?

Type jack being used

I am using a regular tow and half ton jack and 3 ton regular jack. TC being held in place by work gloves. The tranny mates with the engine guide pins
but will not move forward completely on the pins. I have tried lifting rear end of trans and wiggling with a friend checking position of the TC. I am being told that there is a cm. of diff between 2dr trans and 4 dr guide pin holes. I have a 4dr and the trans and tc are from a bone yard. :roll:
