Hello my wife and I have a 95 XLT 4WD with 172000 miles. We have had it for 4 years and its been good to us.

I was trying to get the spare tire off and noticed this black box thats located above the spare but the brackets that hold it up rusted away and now it kind of lays there on pieces of old brackets but not secure. It seems like a part of the fuel sysem I kind of found something about that it was a evaporator I don't know.. I assume I can't actually disconnect it since I am sure the truck won't run then I'll have to figure something else out .

Great forum !

welcome timer

Well I already tied it tied to the frame on top of hte last piece of solid bracket left and put the spare tire snug up against that area already so I don't want to go back and take a picture just now.

Its just a black box with no markings on it to say what it is besides the two connectors going into it which run into the fuel tank I remember my shop guy when replacing all the brake lines he thought those were brake lines too and said they were all rusted.. but just said they are fuel vapor lines. So I am just assuming I need to have it connected and going with it

Thanks
