Following for sometime on this site, now getting out the money book to place order for Explorer. My question when will Ford be doing another in production update to the 2013 model ie hands free rear hatch as on other models in ford line and any other updates and improvements.

Any changes on the 2013 model are unlikely at this point. I wouldn't expect any content changes until the 2014 model, which I would expect sometime during the summer of 2013. They might announce the new features of the 2014 earlier than that, maybe by a month or two (early summer possibly).

As Vince mentioned, it is doubtful and changes will be made to the current model year 2013. I would expect subtle changes to the 2014 and no radical changes, if any, until 2015.
