2002 Explorer XLT 4.0 v6
Hi, owner of an 02 explorer xlt v6. Bought from a transmission shop at 120k miles, been through hell and back and sittin at 195k now. Re-did the suspension some time ago; speed sensors went out and so did the ABS module. Sidewall airbags gave my face a nice surprise going over some railroad tracks about 3 years ago. Had to get transmission worked on at some point again, shifter isnt totally on point anymore but i got a couple flashlights taped together hanging from it holding it down in the gear it needs to be in. (Seemed to have trouble shifting and accelerating without the flashlights...)
Just got done replacing the door ajar switch in passenger door. Changed the driver one a few days ago and had a slight reprieve from the door ajar sensor singing the song of its people only to have it come back full force, if not worse. If it doesnt go away with 2 new sensors, i will have to check the wiring. At least i installed (taped) some usb leds to the dash so i could see how fast i was going without using the dimmer.
Fixing the beast back up since my sonata ate ice in the texas ice storm recently. Lots of ice. Tore off the undercarriage halfway and engine died. Got the explorer that’d been sittin in my driveway for 2 years running again faster than the dealer could fix my car or get a loaner. Just had a heater hose and more o2 sensors put in to get the service engine soon light to go away, along with 800 buckaroos.

Welcome.
