New Memeber - with ( big ) problem

Hi Folks,
I`m Helmut from Germany and brand new here.
I was looking for a Explorer Community outside Europe
and found you on Google.
I`m 53 y old and owner of a 2006 Explorer XLT 4.0.
I hope my English is ok ( and do not make to much mistakes ).


The reason I am here is, tghat I have a problem with my truck since yesterday
evening. We travelled to France and when we arrived I tried to open the liftgate - but it doesn`t work ( opening the window is ok ). The motor of the pwr door locks at the liftgate makes a different noise than before ( louder and sounds terrific ). Do you have a idea or do you know if there chance to open the liftgate ?

Welcome to this forum! Check the plastic clip that connects the power lock to the latch.

Hi BrooklynBay,
thats the point where my english has reached his end.
Where is this plastic clip located-inside or outside ?
I took the 4 screws away which fitted the silver plastic part
where the plate lights and the knob for the liftgate window are placed.
So there is - -at this place - only the handle for the liftgate.
What do I have to do know ?
Sorry for my bad english.

I`ve got the lutch - but the problem is not the yellow plastic clip.
It seems that the problem is directly at the lock.

The internal gear in the electric actuator could be stripped.
