New Mountaineer AWD owner!

Hello all,

Ive owned a few explorers, broncos. bronco II's in the past. Ended up trading them in on new GMC pickup trucks. Well got laid off in October and lost the new trucks. Now Im a proud owner of a 97 mountaineer awd. Runs great but has some driveline problems. Looking forward to learning more been lurking here for awhile.

Well I had the vortecmax VHO engine in one truck and the 6.6l turbodiesel in the other truck, both with engine management and exhaust work. So compared to those its hella slow. But definately has enough power compared to a v6 xplorer I had. I think the awd system robs some power too, which is also in needs of some repairs. I posted a thread about the issues Im having with that. Glad I have the 5.0 tho isntead of the v6!
