'92 Ex, daily driver....last night it started to make a weird low whoop sound and felt like the tranny was slipping. I let up on the throttle and it stopped. re-applied my foot and the noise came back. when I kicked down to passing gear, the noise went away until (I'm guessing) the TC locked up again, then the noise came back.
everytime the noise appeared, it would go away when I tapped on the brake pedal, effectively unlocking the TC.
I need some suggestions/confirmations that my converter is giving up. Also can I cut a wire to disable the lockup and continue to drive until I can take this tranny out and repair/replace it ?
thanks, JF
