New Owner questions

Hi everyone

I have had my first Explorer now for a couple of months, A 2002 XLT 4.0. I have a few questions I hope you guys can help me with.

Keyless entry-I think I have found the code, thanks to this forum. However it doesn't work. The keypad lights up, and pressing the bottom 2 buttons does lock it but the code doesn't unlock, the question is could the keypad be broke?

Leaks- I have a oil leak on the rear differential, it has the explorer hum but nothing really loud.....do I need to worry about this?

Seatbelt warning-I get the normal chime and dash light when I first start but if I undo the seatbelt with everything running I don't get another chime....normal?

Hey there;
As far as the Keypad, it may indeed be broken or the code you have is wrong. You will have to double check with ford, if you give them VIN, they can get you the right code.

Leaky diff is bad, humming noise means there is not enough lube. You need a rear diff lube job. It may just be a seal, but who knows how bad the damage already is.

Seatbelt chimes are working as normal.
