Just found this site and decided to join to see what I can learn. I bought a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport 2dr 4WD 8 years ago with 87K on it. The fellow I bought it from had re-sprung the rear and had done a few more things to it.
I added a locker in the rear and Rancho's all around. It now sports a brush guard with a set of Hella driving lights mounted.
Just drove it from Tucson to Minneapolis, MN .. 2000 miles and averaged 21 mpg! The Sport has 163K on it now.
I've done the Shaffer Trail in Moab with it .. not a real challenge or anything but it has been an excellent vehicle and can do more .. and I'm here to learn more of how to do that.
