I went to the store a little while ago and for one reason or another, I decided to unlock my doors via the keyless entry keypad rather than the key fob like I usually do. I'm not sure if this had anything to do with the issue or if it was purely a coincidence.

Anyways, when I hit the first button, the keypad lit up as it normally does. I typed in my code and the doors unlocked but my courtesy lights didn't light up. I opened the door and my dome lights didn't light up either. I checked my dimmer switch and I heard a crackling in the dash somewhere... like sparking wires. The lights finally came on after I rolled it a couple times. I didn't see any smoke or smell anything burning. When I got to the store, everything worked fine. When I got home, everything was still fine. Any idea what this could be?

I also think I might need a multifunction switch. I flipped the left turn signal on a couple days ago and heard a similar crackling/sparking sound and the signal didn't come on. I flipped it off and back on again and everything worked fine. I forgot about it until tonight.

Another reason I think I need the multifunction switch is because I ran across a thread the other day describing a similar issue that I have with my front wiper fluid. Sometimes I hold in on the button and no fluid comes out. Sometimes the wipers work when I'm holding in on the button and sometimes they don't. I recall a couple times where the failed to work when I selected an actual wiper speed on the dial also. I scrolled it back down to off and then back up and they would kick in.

*shrugs*

Any help is appreciated.

So probably just a big coincidence that everything is going bad?

Thats what I figured, lol.
